Our tape libraries house multiple drives and from 10 to 100's of tapes. With low cost, high density cartridge tape formats such as Sony AIT and Ultrium Linear Tape Open (LTO), tape backup and archival has stood the test of time as an efficient and cost effective method of backup, data protection and archival. At the enterprise level, our libraries house up to 128 tape drives and 11,000 cartridges, and store more that 16 PetaBytes (native) of data. Qualstar tape libraries are designed for continuous, unattended operation and allow simultaneous reading and writing to multiple drives. They also offer key features such as barcode readers to scan labels on cartridges, and an I/O Port for importing and exporting individual tapes under application control. Full Remote Tape & Data Management
All TLS and RLS tape libraries contain Q-Link Remote Library Manager, and our XLS series contain our X-Link Remote Library Manager. These are our web browser based remote library managers that enable administrators to configure, upgrade, and monitor any of our libraries via a company intranet or over the Internet from anywhere in the world. Q-Link and X-Link extend the library's comprehensive front panel menu system and adds additional functionality such as automatic e-mail notification based on rules set by the administrator, and remotely implemented firmware updates.

Eco-friendly Solutions
Qualstar's N2Power subsidiary has pioneered and patented hi-efficiency power technology for years. Storing data in our tape libraries uses much less power than disk, saving money by substantially reducing electrical and cooling requirements. See the Green vs Green case study for more information.
